In Memory Of The Best There Was

Oh my dear brush
How you did brush
You brushed the best of all the brushes
There never will be another brush
Like the green handled brush

Through tangle and snare
Long and short
Bed Head to wet Head
You never gave up

From Mother to Daughter
Sister to Sister
Generations upon generations
You have faithful styled
Brushed and curled
Soothed and spanked
Any chore that was needed you completed

Day upon day you did what was needed
But that day did come when one spank was too much
Not upon head but bottom instead
You met your demise upon the backside

Oh my dear brush
How you did brush
You brushed the best of all the brushes
There never will be another brush
Like the green handled brush
This post is dedicated to my mother and sister who also loved this green handled brush like I did.  And to my brother-in-law, Drew, who hated this brush and on this day I am sure he will celebrate.

Such a sad tale of the green-handled brush,
after working so hard for 50 years.
Gone to pieces before its time
wrongfully used and causing tears.
Spanking a bottom was not its intent
And its green heart was broken, my dears.
Lesson learned:
So if you have a favorite hairbrush,
keep a wooden spoon handy just in case.
A plastic one serves even better
for bottoms when they are on the chase.

I couldn't agree more, mother! I gave her the same lecture on the phone the other day. Just a horrible way for that green handled brush to go out!!!!
